Sweet Medicine SunDance Path (SMSD)

Over thousands of years, traditional shamans, healers and medicine men and women, gathered knowledge as they traveled between different cultures and tribes in North and South America, and Australia (Turtle Island).  The knowledge was referred to as`Braids of truth’ and were woven together into a body of teachings which were proven to work in any culture.

The Twisted Hairs Metis Medicine Societies Council of Elders established a Mystery School in 1250BC to protect these teachings.  This Sacred Society kept the knowledge for generations, protecting it when the human race was experiencing dark times.

In the 1970s the Twisted Hairs Council of Elders saw the damage to Grandmother Earth and the spiritual disconnection among humans and decided to release these teachings to anyone who sought Sacred Knowledge and their own growth.

The teachings from the SMSD are highly relevant to our lives today. They are incredibly rich and demonstrate an intimate and profound understanding of nature, science, human psychology and physiology.  As Sacred Humans we are invited to care for, heal, teach, respect and love each other so that together we can create a world of peace with liberty and freedom.

Sweet Medicine refers to how we can learn from animals - at Hawk's Cry we have many teachers!
